About The Job

This job is a member of the Plant/Ground Service Equipment Base Maintenance Team within the Integrated Operations Division. This position will be responsible for leading a team of crew chiefs and mechanics responsible for daily GSE Maintenance Operations in their stations. This job will also interact with identified union leaders to resolve work group matters.

Specifically, you ll do the following:

  • Supervises and leads the Plant/Ground Support Equipment maintenance workload, resources and activities for GSE workgroups at all GSE shop locations in the station
  • Administers and coordinates the activities of assigned work group(s) in support of policies, goals and objectives established by the GSE station, Manager, Senior Manager, Director or Managing Director
  • Ensures continuing safety, compliance, dependability and reliability
  • Ensures harmonious working relationship with union workforce and understanding / application of union contractual language
  • Prioritizes and administers inspections and maintenance programs, recommending any revisions needed to provide mechanical performance and reliability of ground equipment
  • Understands and applies all standards, policies and procedures for Company ground equipment
  • Ensures technical documents are complied with on Company ground equipment
  • Performs any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned in order to achieve department and Company objectives


Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency
  • 2 years supervisory experience with Unionized work groups and multiple work areas
  • 2 years experience in tracking and reporting work performance and maintenance scheduling programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years experience in: Electrical: Electrical Lighting, Low, Medium and High Voltage, Switch Gears, Breakers, Motors/Motor controls, VFD Drives, Electronics, Industrial; HVAC Air handlers and refrigerant systems, as well as steam/chill water systems: Mechanical Systems Boilers 12,500,000 btu, High Pressure Steam Systems, Chillers, Industrial systems, Hydraulics, Compressors; Plumbing - Commercial/Industrial applications
  • License in:
    • Stationary Engineer, First Class
    • Electrical or Plumbing Journeyman
  • Knowledge of:
    • Fire Systems (Wet/Dry)
    • Fuel systems Aircraft/Automotive Welding
    • Carpentry and Painting
    • Compressed Air Systems
    • Maintenance Scheduling Program - TMA
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time

This position will work off shifts, weekends and holidays as needed
